The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation cordially invites the community to a special Veteran’s Day Concert presented by the Fort Walton Beach High School Symphonic Band, scheduled for Thursday, November 9th at 6:30 pm. We encourage both residents and visitors to take part in this musical tribute to the valiant servicemen and servicewomen of our nation.
This celebration traces its roots back to 1919 when President Woodrow Wilson inaugurated it to honor the U.S. Armed Forces and its members. The chosen date, November 11th, marks the first anniversary of the cessation of World War I. Having been observed nationwide for over a hundred years, Veteran’s Day holds a significant place in our national calendar.
The forthcoming concert on Thursday evening, featuring the Fort Walton Beach High School’s Symphonic Band, is an open invitation to everyone and bears no admission fee. The performance commences at 6:30 pm at the Dugas Pavilion of Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation in Destin, with parking facilities conveniently located behind Destin High School.
